A street in «Al Ebb» area with no garbage containers

Doha: A resident of Al Ebb area complained about the disappearance of garbage containers in the street he lived in for nearly two months (Street 484), stressing that he had contacted the responsible municipality to find out the reason behind this act.

He was surprised by the response of the staff member, who explained to him that the owner of the houses located on this street is responsible for providing garbage containers and removing them from the area; Because he owns houses that he rents out on the same street, and the ministry is not responsible for providing the containers.

He added: “that due to the lack of containers and the delay in removing garbage from the area, the waste spread widely on one of the sidewalks, to the extent that the area turned into a gathering ground for stray cats and dogs that eat garbage, stressing that residents suffer from the spread of unpleasant odors due to the lack of hygiene services in their area”.

He considered that the residents of the street, whether renters or homeowners located in the same street, suffer from the problem of the spread of waste and garbage in their street, calling on the responsible municipality to do its duty and provide containers with care to remove them on a daily basis.

الدوحة: اشتكى أحدُ سكّان منطقة «العب» من اختفاء حاويات القُمامة في الشارع الذي يسكنه منذ قرابة شهرَين (شارع 484)، مؤكّدًا أنّه تواصل مع البلدية المسؤولة لمعرفة السبب وراء هذا الفعل، وتفاجأ من ردّ الموظف الذي أوضح له أن صاحب المنازل الواقعة في هذا الشارع هو المسؤول عن توفير حاويات القُمامة وإزالتها من المنطقة؛ نظرًا لامتلاكه منازل يقوم بتأجيرها في نفس الشارع، وأن الوزارة غير مسؤولة عن توفير الحاويات.

وقال: إنّه بسبب عدم وجود الحاويات وتأخر إزالة القُمامة من المنطقة تنتشر المُخلفات بصورة كبيرة على أحد الأرصفة حتى أن الموقع تحوّل إلى مرتع للقطط والكلاب الضالة التي تقتات من القُمامة، مؤكّدًا أن السكان يعانون من انتشار الروائح الكريهة بسبب عدم توفير خدمة النظافة في منطقتهم.

واعتبر أن سكان الشارع من المؤجّرين أو من ملاك المنازل الواقعة في نفس الشارع يعانون من مشكلة انتشار الفضلات والقُمامة بصورة كبيرة في شارعهم، داعيًا البلدية المسؤولة للقيام بواجبها وتوفير حاويات مع الحرص على إزالتها بصورة يوميّة.
