Ashghal opens new temporary road parallel to Al Shamal Road
«أشغال» تفتتح طريقاً جديداً مؤقتاً موازياً لطريق الشمال السبت المقبل
Doha: ‘Ashghal’ will open a temporary 3.5 kilometre road parallel to Al Shamal Road linking Izghawa and Al Gharrafa areas on Saturday 29 December 2018.
Designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, the new road will be active for approximately three years to allow the completion of road works at Al Shamal Road and to reduce traffic on the heavily congested highway. The new road extends from Izghawa Street to the junction of Al Oyoun Street. It also provides exit from, and access to Al Shamal Road as shown in the map below.
The new road which includes a 100-meter steel bridge will provide two to three lanes in each direction and three signalized junctions at Izghawa Street, Al Ghezlaniya Street and Al Oyoun Street.
During this time road users travelling southbound on Al Shamal Road towards Al Gharrafa will be required to follow the installed signage and exit approximately 300m before Izghawa Intersection (Exit 5). At the junction of Izghawa Street, drivers will need to take a left turn on to the new temporary road and continue straight, crossing the temporary steel bridge until reaching Al Gharrafa.
Likewise, road users travelling from Al Gharrafa towards Izghawa and Al Shamal via Al Oyoun Street can use the new temporary road and steel bridge.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and urged all road users to abide by the posted speed limit at 60kph and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» عن افتتاح طريق جديد مؤقت موازٍ لطريق الشمال بطول 3.5 كيلومتر، ليربط بين منطقة ازغوى ومنطقة الغرافة، اعتباراً من يوم السبت المقبل.
تم تصميم الطريق الجديد المؤقت بالتنسيق مع الإدارة العامة للمرور ليكون في الخدمة لمدة ثلاث سنوات، بهدف إتاحة المجال أمام تنفيذ أعمال الطرق التي تنفذها الهيئة بطريق الشمال، وتوفير طريق بديل يخفف من الضغط المروري على طريق الشمال الحيوي، حيث يمتد الطريق الجديد من شارع ازغوى حتى تقاطع شارع العيون ويوفر مدخلاً ومخرجاً إلى طريق الشمال.
يتكون الطريق من مسارين إلى ثلاثة مسارات في كل اتجاه وجسراً بطول 100 متر، إلى جانب ثلاثة تقاطعات ضوئية جديدة عند شارع ازغوى وشارع الغزلانية وشارع العيون. وخلال هذه الفترة، يمكن لرواد طريق الشمال المتجهين جنوباً اتباع اللوحات الإرشادية واستخدام الطريق الخدمي رقم 5 (300 متر قبل تقاطع ازغوى) للخروج من طريق الشمال، ثم الانعطاف يساراً إلى الطريق الجديد ومتابعة السير مباشرة إلى تقاطع شارع العيون بالغرافة مروراً بالجسر الجديد.
كما يمكن لرواد الطريق القادمين من شارع العيون المتجهين شمالاً نحو شارع ازغوى استخدام الطريق الجديد عبر الجسر المؤقت الجديد، ثم متابعة السير مباشرة إلى شارع ازغوى.
ستقوم هيئة الأشغال العامة بتركيب اللوحات الإرشادية لتنبيه مستخدمي الطريق بهذا التغيير المروري، وتهيب بجميع مستخدمي الطريق الالتزام بحدود السرعة المسموحة في الطريق الجديد عند 60 كيلومتراً في الساعة، واتباع اللوحات الإرشادية حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
