Media delegations tour Khalifa International Stadium

Media delegations accompanying Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven at their winter training camps in Doha were given yesterday a tour of Khalifa International Stadium, organized by Aspire Zone Foundation.

During the tour, the delegations visited the renovated stadium, where they were introduced to the new features of the first ready venue for 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

The tour included KIS mixed zone, the players locker rooms, as well as the VIP lounge, which features an exhibition of rare photos reflecting the history of the stadium since its establishment.

Following the tour, PSV Eindhovens Chief Executive Officer Toon Gerbrands, who joined the Dutch delegations, said: “When you see all the facilities here in Aspire, they look incredible. Its staff are highly professional.

“Everything is well organized, from pitches to hotels and the Football Performance Centre. I have seen a lot of places in the world, this is really the top. For us, it is the perfect environment to prepare for the next stage of the season.”

Meanwhile, General Manager of Germany’s national team and member of the Presidential Board of DFB, Oliver Bierhof, also toured AZF facilities and said during an interview with AZF social media team: “We have spent two incredible days here. We were warmly welcomed by Qatari people. We liked the tour a lot, and we have seen great things. I didn’t expect it to be so huge and very detailed.

“Aspire Zone Foundation has a great vision. It is doing a great work in different areas. You can see so many great facilities and spaces, as well as world class experts from all the globe, who are developing football and sports.

“It is very interesting for me to see how Aspire, with the support of advanced technology and state of the art facilities and high-quality experts, tries in every detail to help coaches and players to become better.

“Qatar has a long-term vision to be great in football. It takes some time and I am sure with all these efforts and all enthusiasm, Qatar has great chances to have a good team in 2022”, he said.

نظمت مؤسسة «أسباير زون»، أمس الأول الأربعاء، جولة تعريفية للوفود الإعلامية العالمية المصاحبة لفريقي بايرن ميونيخ الألماني وأيندهوفن الهولندي في استاد خليفة المونديالي، على هامش معسكري الفريقين بالدوحة.

وتعرفت الوفود خلال الزيارة على التجديدات التي شهدها الاستاد، بعد إعادة افتتاحه ليكون أولى الملاعب الجاهزة لاستضافة مونديال 2022.

وزارت الوفود الإعلامية كذلك المنطقة الإعلامية ومنطقة اللاعبين، وكذلك قاعة كبار الزوار والتي تضم معرضاً للصور الفوتوغرافية النادرة، التي تستعرض تاريخ الاستاد منذ تأسيسه وحتى وقتنا الحاضر.

وكان برفقة الوفد الهولندي خلال الجولة، المدير العام لنادي أيندهوفن الهولندي تون غيربراندز، وقال في أعقاب زيارته لاستاد خليفة الدولي: «هذه المرة الثانية التي أزور فيها الدوحة، فقد سبق وأن شاركت في مؤتمر عقدته «نيويورك تايمز» عن مستقبل كرة القدم، وحينما يتاح لك العمل مع أكبر المؤسسات الرياضية تكون الظروف مواتية للعمل، فجميع التجهيزات التي تقدمها «أسباير زون» مذهلة، وتمتلك المؤسسة قدرات تنظيمية عالية الاحتراف وكذلك الملاعب وأماكن الإقامة والتدريب وكذلك مركز تطوير أداء كرة القدم، لقد رأيت العديد من الأماكن حول العالم، لكن ما رأيته في «أسباير زون» يأتي في القمة، وبالنسبة لنا والفرق العالمية التي تتدرب هنا هي فرصة مثالية للتحضير للمرحلة الثانية من الموسم الكروي.;
