‘Lord of the Rings’ TV series to launch Sept 2022

LOS ANGELES – Amazon’s multi-million dollar TV version of “The Lord of the Rings” will launch in September 2022, Amazon Studios said on Monday.
The streaming platform said filming on the first season has wrapped in New Zealand, and it released the first images of the show.
“The journey begins September 2, 2022 with the premiere of our original The Lord of the Rings series on Prime Video,” Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement.
Amazon is spending about $465 million filming the first season of the show, according to New Zealand government officials. It is expecting to make five seasons of the show, making it one of the most expensive TV series ever.
It said in a press release that the first season would be available in more than 240 nations, with new episodes released weekly.
The epic fantasy plot will take place thousands of years before the events narrated by writer J.R.R. Tolkien in his books “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings.”

كشفت أمازون منذ قليل، عن الموعد الرسمي لطرح الموسم الأول من مسلسلها المقبل Lord of the Rings، بعد طول انتظار وعملية تصوير استمرت لعشرات الشهور، اضطر القائمون على المسلسل تأجيل الكثير من عمليات التصوير بسبب جائحة كورونا.
ووفقًا لتقرير نشرته صحيفة فاريتي، أن الموعد الرسمي لطرح الموسم الأول من سلسلة Lord of the Rings، سيكون بالتحديد يوم 2 سبتمبر عام 2022، على أن تعرض الحلقات أسبوعيًا عبر المنصة الشهيرة أمازون.
وأضاف التقرير أن عملية التصوير انتهت منذ ساعات في نيوزيلندا، لتعلن بعدها بقليل أمازون عن توقيت عرض الموسم الأول بالكشف عن صور من الموسم الأول للسلسلة التي تم تصويرها بميزانية تخطت الـ 500 مليون دولار.
وكشف التقرير عن أن حبكة المسلسل حتى الآن لا يعلم عنها سوي القليل، ومن المقرر ان يسرد العصر الثاني من الرواية، قبل آلاف السنين من أحداث “سيد الخواتم”، مستعيناً بروايات “الهوبيت”. ويضم المسلسل مجموعة من الشخصيات المألوفة والجديدة، وهم يواجهون عودة ظهور الشر الذي كان يخشى منذ فترة طويلة إلى ميدل إيرث.
