Biden awards financial rewards for people to get the vaccine

President Joe Biden has announced new procedures to vaccinate more citizens and prevent the spread of the delta strain of the coronavirus, which raises concerns in the country, particularly as Covid-19 infections increase again.
Biden called on local authorities to give $100 to everyone receiving the vaccine, from emergency funds initiated to the pandemic, al-Jazeera reported.
“Months and months after the decline in the number of coronavirus infections, the country is experiencing a resurgence due to this new mutation called Delta,” Biden said at a White House press conference, calling it “highly contagious and causing a new wave of infections among those who have not been vaccinated.
He explained that people are dying because they are not taking the vaccine, and that they should not die with the availability of anti-viral vaccines, pointing out that health authorities have provided more than 325 million doses of vaccine in the past six months.
Among the new measures, he said, all federal employees and workers contracted by the federal government are required to receive the vaccine or wear face masks throughout their working day regardless of the area in which they are located.
There are 4 million federal employees in the United States, including 2 million civil servants.
As for the military, Biden called on the military to study how and when to add the Covid-19 vaccine to the military’s mandatory vaccine list.
The United States is seeking to revive the vaccination campaign, which marked a major leap at the beginning of the Biden era, but its pace has finally receded at a time when the spread of the fastest-growing delta mutation is worrying health authorities.

ودعا بايدن السلطات المحلية لمنح مبلغ مئة دولار لكل شخص يتلقى اللقاح، وذلك من أموال صناديق الطوارئ التي فُتحت لمواجهة الجائحة، وفقاً لموقع الجزيرة.
وقال بايدن خلال مؤتمر صحفي في البيت الأبيض: “إن البلاد بعد شهور وشهور من انخفاض حالات الإصابة بكورونا، تشهد ارتفاعًا مجددًا بها بسبب هذا المتحور الجديد الذي يسمى دلتا”، واصفًا إياه بـ”شديد العدوى ويسبب موجة جديدة من الإصابات لدى من لم يتم تطعيمهم.”
وأوضح أن الناس يموتون بسبب عدم أخذهم اللقاح، وينبغي ألا يموتون في ظل توفر اللقاحات المضادة للفيروس، لافتًا أن الجهات الصحية قدمت أكثر من 325 مليون جرعة لقاح خلال الأشهر الست الماضية.
وأشار أن من ضمن الإجراءات الجديدة مطالبة جميع الموظفين الفيدراليين، والعمال المتعاقدين مع الحكومة الفيدرالية بتلقي اللقاح أو ارتداء الكمامة طيلة وجودهم بالعمل بغض النظر عن المنطقة الموجودين بها.
ويبلغ عدد الموظفين الفيدراليين في الولايات المتحدة 4 ملايين شخص، بينهم مليونا موظف مدني.
وفيما يتعلق بالعسكريين، طالب بايدن الجيش بدراسة كيفية وموعد إضافة اللقاح المضاد لكوفيد-19 إلى قائمة اللقاحات الإلزامية للعسكريين.
وتسعى الولايات المتحدة لإنعاش حملة التلقيح التي سجلت مع بداية عهد بايدن قفزة كبرى، لكن وتيرتها تراجعت أخيرا في وقت يثير فيه انتشار المتحورة دلتا الأسرع تفشيا قلق السلطات الصحية.
