Golden Cup Semi Final: Felix Sanchez Assures Qatar’s Readiness

Austin: Qatar’s Coach, Felix Sanchez, confirmed that facing the US team in the semi-finals of the Gold Cup will be a difficult test for both parties.

Qatar’s coach said in the press conference that was held today, “We played a difficult match in the quarter-finals against El Salvador, in which we qualified and were in the Golden Square. and achieve the desired result”.

The Spanish coach indicated that the national team is fully prepared for the upcoming confrontation. “I had spoken after our last match that we challenged the great pressure of the championship matches, and this confrontation is another challenge for us as we look forward to reaching the final, and our ambition is to compete in all the tournaments that we participate in it and this is what we have confirmed so far in this edition of the Gold Cup”.

On the teams readiness for the 2022 World Cup after its participation in the Gold Cup, Sanchez said, “We feel very excited in every tournament we participate in, as we try to prepare the team by participating in many competitions in order to gain the necessary experience.”

Concerning the level of the US team, the Qatari coach mentioned that we have analyzed and studied the opponent’s method. They play with great comfort and are confident of their level, and without any doubt, the match will be strong and everyone will enjoy it.

For his part, Qatari goalkeeper Mishaal Barshim stressed that the match will be difficult against a strong team that is considered one of the best teams in the tournament.

The goalkeeper added, “Our goal is to win and qualify for the final, and we will do our best for that. We are participating in this tournament in order to compete and appear at our best level.”

Mishaal Barshim spoke about the large crowd in this edition of the tournament: “It is great to see the fans and this is what gives the tournament a special flavor in light of the circumstances the world is going through due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19).”

The young goalkeeper concluded his statements by saying: “This tournament is a wonderful experience for us, as we compete with teams that are different from those we used to play with on the Asian continent, especially in terms of physical strength, so we are happy with this experience.”

On the other hand, US coach Greg Berhalter praised the standards presented by the Qatari team during its first participation in the Gold Cup, noting that the confrontation will constitute a difficult test of the capabilities of his players.

“We will face a good team that managed to top its group in the first round, which included Honduras, Panama and Grenada, and then beat El Salvador in the quarter-finals, which means that we will play against a difficult opponent,” Berhalter said.

The US coach added, “The Jamaica match was a good test for us before facing the Asian champion, although it will be more complicated because we will face an opponent who will demand more effort from us and we must be ready to accept this challenge.”

He pointed out that he is proud of what the young players did after they managed to pass a strong test in the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup, and outperformed the Jamaican team, which dominated during some periods of the match.

اوستن: أكد الإسباني فيليكس سانشيز مدرب المنتخب القطري الأول لكرة القدم أن مواجهة المنتخب الأمريكي في نصف نهائي بطولة الكأس الذهبية سيكون اختبارا صعبا على كلا الطرفين.

وقال مدرب الادعم في المؤتمر الصحفي الذي عقد يوم الأمس، لقد خضنا مباراة صعبة في الدور ربع النهائي أمام السلفادور وحققنا فيها التأهل والتواجد بالمربع الذهبي، وحرصنا على أن يستعيد الفريق جاهزيته، ونحن على ثقة تامة في قدرات اللاعبين والتزامهم، ونتطلع للظهور بالمستوى المطلوب أمام مستضيف البطولة، وتحقيق النتيجة التي نتطلع إليها .

وأشار المدرب الاسباني إلى أن المنتخب في أتم الجهازية للمواجهة المرتقبة التي نسعى فيها للمنافسة..وكنت قد تحدثت بعد مباراتنا الأخيرة اننا تحدينا الضغط الكبير لجدول مباريات البطولة، وهذه المواجهة تحدي أخر بالنسبة لنا حيث نتطلع للوصول إلى النهائي، وطموحنا هو المنافسة في كل البطولات التي نشارك فيها وهذا ما أكدناه لحد الآن في هذه النسخة من الكأس الذهبية.

وعن جاهزية الفريق لمونديال 2022 بعد مشاركته في بطولة الكأس الذهبية ..قال سانشيز نشعر بحماس كبير في كل بطولة نشارك فيها، حيث نحاول أن نجهز الفريق من خلال المشاركة في العديد من المنافسات من أجل اكتساب الخبرات اللازمة والاحتكاك بمدارس كروية مختلفة .

وحول مستوى المنتخب الأمريكي ذكر مدرب المنتخب القطري لقد قمنا بتحليل ودراسة طريقة المنافس ،فهم يلعبون بأريحية كبيرة وواثقون من مستواهم..ودون ادنى شك المباراة ستكون قوية والجميع سيستمتع بها.

ومن جانبه اكد مشعل برشم حارس مرمى المنتخب القطري ،أن المباراة ستكون صعبة أمام منتخب قوي يعتبر من أفضل المنتخبات في البطولة ، والكل يعرف قدراته جيدا ونسعى لإظهار أفضل ما لدينا وأن نقدم صورة جيدة في هذه المواجهة.

وأضاف حارس الأدعم “هدفنا هو الفوز والتأهل للنهائي وسنبذل قصارى جهدنا من أجل ذلك، فنحن نشارك في هذه البطولة من أجل المنافسة والظهور بأفضل مستوى لدينا”.

وتحدث مشعل برشم عن الحضور الجماهيري الكبير الذي عرفته هذه النسخة من البطولة … من الرائع أن نشاهد الجماهير في المدرجات، وهذا ما يعطى البطولة نكهة خاصة في ظل الظروف التي يمر بها العالم بسبب فيروس كورونا / كوفيد-19/.

واختتم الحارس الشاب تصريحاته قائلا:”ان هذه البطولة تجربة رائعة بالنسبة لنا حيث ننافس منتخبات تختلف عن تلك التي كنا نلعب معها في القارة الأسيوية، خاصة من ناحية القوة البدنية لهذا فنحن سعداء بهذه التجربة”.

وعلى جانب اخر اشاد جريج برهالتر مدرب المنتخب الأمريكي بالمستويات التي قدمها المنتخب القطري خلال مشاركته الأولى في بطولة الكأس الذهبية ،مبينا ان المواجهة ستشكل اختبارا صعبا لقدرات لاعبيه.

وقال برهالتر …سنواجه فريقا جيدا تمكن من تصدر مجموعته في الدور الأول التي كانت تضم الهندوراس وبنما وجرنادا، وبعدها فاز على السلفادور في الدور ربع النهائي ما يعني أننا سنلعب أمام منافس صعب.

وأضاف مدرب المنتخب الامريكي ،”ان مباراة جامايكا كانت اختبارا جيدا لنا قبل مواجهة بطل آسيا، ولو أنه سيكون أكثر تعقيدا لأننا سنواجه خصما سيطالبنا ببذل مجهود أكبر ويجب أن نكون مستعدين لقبول هذا التحدي”.

وأشار إلى أنه فخور بما قدمه اللاعبون الشباب بعد أن تمكنوا من اجتياز اختبار قوي في الدور ربع النهائي للكأس الذهبية، وتفوقوا على المنتخب الجامايكي الذي سيطر خلال بعض الفترات من عمر المباراة.
