Doha: Drivers have warned of the phenomenon of driving electric scooters in groups on major streets that are not equipped for these small bikes with limited speed, stressing that some of their drivers are unaware of the risks posed by driving them on those streets where vehicles drive at a minimum speed of 100 km/h and drive them in groups of up to 10 people.
They called on stakeholders to issue special controls for the use of this type of bicycles on the streets and roads, to limit their driving only to the inner streets of residential areas, and to use bicycle paths to move from one location to another, with the need to launch a campaign to violate drivers who crowd cars on the main streets.
Al-Raya lens spotted a number of electric scooter users driving it along Najma street, which runs from the Barwa Al Wakra roundabout to the F Ring Road signals, where they deliberately drove it on a main street without being accompanied by a car to ensure their movement on the street, as is the case with bicycle groups whose drivers travel in groups on the main streets.

الدوحة: حذر سائقون من ظاهرة قيادة السكوترات الكهربائية في مجموعات بالشوارع الرئيسية غير المهيأة لسير تلك الدراجات الصغيرة ذات السرعة المحدودة، مؤكدين أن بعض سائقيها غير مدركين حجم المخاطر الناتجة عن قيادتها في تلك الشوارع التي لا تقل سرعة المركبات فيها عن 100 كم في الساعة حيث يقودونها في مجموعات تصل إلى 10 أشخاص.
وطالبوا الجهات المعنية بضرورة إصدار ضوابط خاصة لاستخدام هذا النوع من الدراجات في الشوارع والطرق، وجعل قيادتها مقتصرة فقط على الشوارع الداخلية بالمناطق السكنية، واستخدام مسارات الدراجات الهوائية للانتقال من موقع لآخر، مع ضرورة إطلاق حملة لمخالفة السائقين الذين يزاحمون السيارات في الشوارع الرئيسية.
عدسة الراية رصدت عددًا من مستخدمي السكوترات الكهربائية الذين يقودونها على شارع امتداد نجمة الممتد من دوار بروة الوكرة حتى إشارات الدائري السادس، حيث تعمد هؤلاء قيادتها في شارع رئيسي دون أن ترافقهم سيارة لتأمين تنقلهم على الشارع كما هو الحال بمجموعات الدراجات الهوائية التي يتنقل سائقوها بمجموعات في الشوارع الرئيسية.
