QRC provides emergency aid to quake-hit Lombok

DOHA: The Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has announced that it will provide emergency assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake in the Indonesian island of Lombok at a cost of $ 200,000. The QRC said in a statement that the assistance is to provide non-food relief items, which include a shelter package, such as plastic sheets, blankets, mosquito nets, and water-saving containers.

The assistance also includes the provision of health services of first aid, personal hygiene and awareness packages for the benefit of 700 affected families. On August 5, the Qatar Red Crescent launched the Emergency Information Management Center to follow up on the latest developments of the earthquake and is in constant contact with the partners of the International Movement and the National Assembly in Indonesia to follow up the situation there.

أعلن الهلال الأحمر القطري تخصيص 200 ألف دولار لتقديم المساعدات العاجلة للمتضررين من الزلازل التي ضربت جزيرة لومبوك الإندونيسية، من خلال توفير المواد الإغاثية غير الغذائية والتي تتضمن أدوات إيواء، وأغطية بلاستيكية، وبطانيات، وناموسيات، وأوعية لحفظ المياه، بالإضافة إلى الخدمات الصحية من إسعافات أولية وحزم النظافة الشخصية والتوعية بها، لصالح 700 عائلة متضررة.

وكان الهلال الأحمر القطري قد قام منذ 5 أغسطس الحالي بتفعيل مركز إدارة المعلومات في الطوارئ لمتابعة مستجدات الزلزال، وما يزال مستمراً في التواصل مع الشركاء لمتابعة مستجدات الوضع الحالي. وكانت جزيرة لومبوك الإندونيسية قد تعرضت في نهاية يوليو الماضي لأكثر من 30 هزة أرضية، بالإضافة لمئات الهزات الارتدادية، خلفت 477 حالة وفاة، وأكثر من 7000 جريح، وحوالي 415 ألف نازح، ودمرت أكثر من 32 ألف مبنى، حتى الآن، كما تضررت الطرق والجسور، وجرى قطع التيار الكهربائي، وتضررت شبكات الاتصال.;
